Melissa (knits) and I have begun to spend Sunday afternoons together in search of a healthier lifestyle. lmbo.
We share similar goals: We would both like to get in better shape and we both enjoy checking out the scenery and happenings around us. AND KNITTING!
Thus far, we have spent a little time at Panera Bread in Morehead City, we've travelled to Edenton, NC in search of yarn shops and we have tooled around locally- walking and eating and knitting.
For about two years, I have wanted to go over to Arapahoe, NC to visit camp Don Lee for their Sunday dinner. Apparently, they also have Monday and Tuesday dinner, as well.
The boys and I packed up this morning and met Melissa out in Havelock to carpool. hwy 70 to 101 to ferry rd on 306. We love a good ferry ride.
Dinner was amazing. Roast beef, turkey, grilled shrimp, scallops, asparagus, mixed veggies, fruit, salad, and dessert. nom.
The grounds are amazing. I wish i had thought to take pictures.
On to the woods.
We went out to a recommended trail out in the Croatan forest just off of 306. Just over 4.5 miles of hiking in about 2 hours. Wow! was it ever beautiful.
Danny and Gus had a great time running through the forest, hiding and climbing. They climbed trees, kicked fungus and got dirty. a little something gross on Gus's finger. I just wanted to share my beautiful day in the forest today.
